LIONESS CLUB HOLDS CHRISTMAS PAETY, The annual Christmas party of the Hertford Lioness Club was held Wed nesday evening at the home of Lioness Sallie Lane, with Lioness Dorothy Bass presiding. During the business session the Auxiliary voted to send baskets of food and toys to two families for Christmas. A Christmas program was a feature of the meeting, with Lionesses Kath erine Biggers, Dorothy Bass and Ruby White taking part. At the close of the meeting the members exchanged gifts. CANDLE LIGHT PROGRAM A candle light program, "The Light of Men," will be presented at the Oak Grove Methodist Church on Thursday night, December 23, at 7:30 o'clock. The public is invited to attend. Mrs. Johnson gave the devotional. The meeting was opened by singing It Came Upon the Midnight Clear." Mrs. R. L. Holmes" and Mrs. E. A. Byrum gave readings. Mrs. B. W. Pennington read a poem. The hymn Let the Lower Lights Be Burning was sung and Mrs. I. A. Ward dis missed the meeting with prayer. After a short business session a Christmas party was enjoyed. The house was beautifully decorated with evergreen and holly, carrying out the Christmas motif. The members pre sented Mrs. Johnson, chairman, and Mrs. J. W. Hampton, assistant chair man, with a Christmas gift, and each member received a gift from Mrs. Johnson. , The hostesses, assisted by Mrs. R. L. Holmes and Mrs. Tommy Miller, served refreshments-to the following members and guest: Mesdames V, A. Holdren, A. W. Perry, Walter East, E. A. Byrum, Raymond Skin ner, J. W, Hampton, B. W.
