jniscellaneous shower Wednesday af
ternoon,. March 9, at their home In
honor of Mrs." S. B. 'Carter of Eliza-
I beta City, who before her recent mar
riage wag Miss Mary Thomas Monds.
The house was decorated with cut
flowers. Several contests and bingo:
were played, with Mrs. Raymond Dail,
Mrs. A. D, Weston, Mrs. R. B. Chap
pell, Mrs. S. B. Carter, Mrs. W. E.
Turner, Mrs. J. H. , Hollowell, Mrs.
Lydia- Chappell, Mrs. C. S. Chappell
and Mrs. Robert Hendren winning
prizes." The honoree received many
beautiful and useful gifts.

A The M. Y. F. of New Hope Church
held its regular meeting Monday
evening, March 14, at the community
building.
Calvin1 Butt, the 'vice president,
called the meeting to order and pre
sided. He gave the onening medita
tion, after which "My Faith Looks Up
to Thee" was sung by the group. The
devotional was given by Stevie Perry
and Dickie Baker.
After having the business session a
very interesting proerram vai pre
sented, the theme being "Seekinor the
Kingdom of God." Those talnnjr
parts were Misses Mildred Onley. Ha
zel Trueblood, Lucy Lee Trueblood.
Faye Butt, Sarah Onley, Norma Butt
and Faye Dail.
At the conclusion of the program
a socia hour was given. , Contests
and games were enjoyed, by each one
