School debating teams won a grand slam in the tri angle contests ; with Edenton and Elizabeth City laet Friday when the local affirmative team downed Eden and tile negative debaters won from Elizabefli City. Local Horses In ' Race Meet Saturday Several race hqrses, owned by J. H. Towe of Hertford, will be entered in a pre-season race meet scheduled to be hs!d Saturday, April 9 at the Eastern Fair Ground' track in Eliza beth City, it was announced today by Holland . Webster, secretary . of the fair assocation. Three races, a two year old pace, a ciassinea trot ana classified pace will be run during the afternoon. Racing is scheduled to start at 1:30 o'clock, Mr. Webster stated.
