The Burgess Home Demonstration
Club met Friday afternoon with Mrs.
Irwin Whidbee at her home in Bur
gess. .
The meeting, was opened by sing
ing "The Star Spangled Banner".
The hostess read the 23rd Psalm fol
lowed by prayer by Mrs. J. R. Ayscue.
Announcements were made of Farm
and Home Week. Minutes were read
and roll called. The club members
voted-, to .have picnic August 31, at
Harvey Point. All the people of Bur
gess community are invited to join
them.
Mrs. Nina Braswell White then
made a most interesting demonstra
tion on Durchashur china and crys
tal. The meeting was closed oy re
peating the Collect. Mrs. Irwin Whid
bee conducted a contest with Mrs.
B. Basnight winning.
Those present were Mrs. H. S.

Miss Lois Jane Kirby was honored
on her. twelfth birthday with a sur
mise "birthday party, Friday night,
July 23, at the home of Margaret
Harrell.
The truest were seated in the din
ning room when she arrived, and they
began singing "Happy Birthday To
You," as she entered the room.
