by the Board of Education of Per
quimans County, Hertford, . North
. Carolina, at the Perquimans County
Court House, Hertford, North Caro
lina, up to 2:00 P. June 30, I960,
and immediately thereafter publicly
opened and read at the said office for:
a. The General Construction.
K The Electrical System.
c' The Plumbing System.
d. The Heating System.
Plans and specifications and bid
ding blanks are on file at the office
of James W. Griffith, Jr., Architect,
Greenville, N. C, and may be obtained
from him upon deposit of Fifty Dol
lars ($50.00). , Bidders who submit
a bona fide and reasonable bid will
be refunded the full amount of the
deposit upon return of same in good
condition within five (5) days after
letting date Cost of printing and
handling will be retained on all
others.
All Contractors are hereby notified
that any and all pertinent provisions
of the General Statutes of North Caro
lina governing the letting "of public
building contracts, subsequent amend
stents antl enactments pertaining to
he licensing, registration and regu
lation of their respective professions
and trades will be observed in the re
ceipt of bids and the award of the
work.. All bidders must be duly li
censed as Contractors by the iState of
North' Carolina at the time of sub
mitting their bid and as provided by
G. S. 105-54, Subsection B., before
undertaking to execute any contract.
A bidders' certified check for 5
of the bid must accompany each bid.
(In lieu thereof a bidder may offer
. a certified check for 2 of the bid
plus a bid bond of 3 of the bid.) As
required by law, all certified checks
submitted with proposals shall be
drawn on a Bank or Trust Company
insured by the Federal Deposit Insur
ance Corporation. Said deposit to be
retained by the Owner aB liquidated
damages in event of a failure of the
successful bidder to execute the Con
tract within ten days after the award
or to give satisfactory surety as re
quired by law. .
A performance bond is required in
an Amount equal to1 100 of the con
tract price conditioned upon the faith
ful -.performance of the contract and
upon: payment of all persons supply
ing labor and furnishing materials for
construction of the project
No informal bids will be received.
The Owner reserves the right to reject
any or all bids, and to waive infor
malities.
The award of the contract will be
conditioned upon funds being made
available for construction and the
Owner reserves the right to hold the
bids for a period of 30 days after the!
date of the opening thereof. ;
