Jo Pat Stokes led , the Squaws in scoring, , hitting for; a total of 18 points while Edwards and White gar nered 10 each and Winslow tallied 6. Robinson, with 13 points was high scorer tot the Williamston girls. The Squaws jumped into a 6-4 lead at the close of the first period and had a 21-10 margin at half time. They increased this advantage during the third period to 36-20 and held a 21 point lead at the end of the game. Ownley Post of the VFW, and its Auxiliary, will sponsor I two dances during the Christmas-New Year holidays, it was announced here today. Both dances , will be held at the VFW hall, The Post's annual Christmas dance will be held on Christmas night, De cember 25, and the New Year's dance will be on the night of December 31. I Holiday Schedule The Perquimans County Library Board met in regular session on De cember 8, in the library. In addition to taking up routine matters, the board voted to have the library closed for the Christmas holidays from Wed nesday, December 23, at noon to Mon day, December 28, at 10 A. M. The bookmobile will make its regular trip through Chapanoke and the Lake Road on Tuesday, December 22, instead of December 23. The trip regularly scheduled through New Hope, Durants Neck and Woodville on December 24, will be canceled The library announces that its col lection of Christmas books has been supplemented by the addition of sev eral new ones both for adults and chil dren. Anyone wishing material for Christmas readings or programs, etc., will find much from which to choose. Rotary Club Ladies' Night Party Held Last Wednesday Members of the Hertford Rotary Club entertained their wives and a number of special guests at a pre Christmas party held Wednesday night of last week at the Hotel Hert ford. Heading the list of guests was Sen ator Alton A; Lennon, who as guest speaker on the program, gave a brief summary of the operations of the Congress during its recent session. In reporting on some of the legisla tion Senator Lennon pointed out the huge amounts in foreign aid the U. S.'had spent during th past 12 years, and he stated that as a believer in . conservative government it was his opinion the time had come when the U.
