BURGESS CLUB MEETS
Mrs. Walton Lane was a most
charming hostess to the Burgess home
demonstration club Wednesday night.
The meeting opened by singing
"Long Long Ago." The devotional
wa-? given by Mrs. J. B. Basnight, con
sisting of 19-21 verses of Galatians
and remarks on those verses. Minutes
were read and approved and the roll
called with 100 per cent present.
Announcements were made by Miss
Perry and acknowledgement cards
were read. It was voted to renew
the club subscription to "The News
Letter." Arrangements were made for
the club to act as hostess at the I
"County Federation Meeting." Miss
Perry gave a mot interesting dem
onstration with colored slides on Cul
ture of Azaleas and Camellias. She
emnhasized the importance of an acid
soil well drained, shallow setting and
a mulch of well rotted sawdust or
pine straw.
