I J;:r.y Fish Lost Frcni Storm Effect One of the oddities' resulting from the effects o Hurricane Di ane was the death by hundreds of fsh.in the Perquimans River dur ing the past week-end. Fish were observed swimming near the sur face of the river apparently gasp ing for air. Local sportsmen said they believed the high waters of the area washed oxygen-consum-' ing matter into the river which prevented ,the fish from obtaining sufficient oxygen to keep alive. A report from Raleigh ' -announced Wildlife, officials plan an investi gation of the situation.
