Legion Post Seeks Return Of Rifles The Wm. Paul Stallings Post of the American Legion is seeking the return of a number of army rifles loaned to members of the Post. The Perquimans Board of Educa tion will meet, Friday night in the Court House for the purpose of continuing consideration on secure ment of a site for the proposed new Hertford Grammar School. It was learned the Board, at this meeting,, may act to begin condem nation proceedings toward secur ing the Winslow-Gaither tract of land, adjacent to Dobb Street, for the purpose. In a conference Tuesday night, between local school officials and owners of the landj no progress was made toward agreement on a sale price for this tract but agreement was reached by both parties on the possibility of having the price set by an appraisal committee appoint ed through court procedure. Morgan Resigns As FSA Supervisor Edwin F. Morgan, County Super visor of the Farmers Home Admin istration for this area, comprising the counties of Perquimans, Cho wan, Pasquotank, Gates, Camden and Currituck, retired January 31, 1956, after approximately twenty five years of service with his and the Farm Security Agency. D. G. Modlin of Williamston, Area Supervisor, has been desig nated Acting County Supervisor until a new County Supervisor can be appointed.
