With encouragement, the -dog weakly stood I up arid soon was in the house for further treat ment and care, and the fire was safely extinguished by other members of the family. Now every family that has a pet knows what an important place that pet holds in the hearts of every member of the family. ments.' I Prayer. Looking out the window, Beth, i And i4 is thev wno will know the 12-year-old, discovered that'10' grateful the Aumans are for "Skeeter's" house was on fire "1(:,lara s Kwieage oi aruri and he was locked inside the doghouse. It . was she who set off the general alarm through out the house. Richard jumped from his bed, ran down, the stairs (without even his shoes or robe) and out to open the door of the doghouse and pull the unconscious dog from the smouldering fire which by this time was bursting into flames. There, on the cold ground, lay the black and white dog, spe cial pet of the family for six years. He was completely over come from the smoke fumes and, for a minute, it looked as if the rescue were too late. But Richard stood over the dog and slowly, methodically, just as he had been taught in Scouting to do, he administered artificial respiration. For perhaps five minutes there seemed no hope as family and neighbors stood around, helpless. But the boy kept working: push, release, push, release, trying to force air into the lungs. With every push there came a puff of smoke from the dog's nostrils. And then the dog's tail began to wag, just a little at first, and then more strongly as he began to try to tell his master that, cial respiration. Maybe it was "just a dog" but a dog is a boy's best friend ! And al though there is still some dan ger of pneumonia setting in, if "tender, loving care" will save the dog,f he will soon be well again. We must ask that these accounts be paid or properly arranged for at a very early date as it is fast nearing the time to begin the new farming season. We do greatly appreciate the cooperation of those who have (been so helpful in these matters and assure you that it is a pleasure to serve you in any way possible. STEERS MORE EASILY, RESPONDS MUCH MORE QUICKLY AND HOLDS THE ROAD MORE SECURELY THAN ANY STOCK FOUR-DOOR SEDAN EVER MADE IN THE U.S." ym U liiiilr, Cur Life If you think we're enthusiastic about Corvair, leaf through the leading automotive, spoils and science magazines and see what the experts are saying. Then, by all means, drive one yourself. "Corvair's steering is so light that at parking speeds it feels power assisted; it is so precise as to he absolutely without play,' and it is fait enough to allow complete control over every situation." , . Karl Ludvigsen, Sports Cars Illustrated "Steers like a feather and is extremely quick. . . . This is a beautifully designed automobile, engineered by real pros, ..." ' 'Tom McCahill, Meclumix Illustrated "Most surprising thing to me outside of ' the excellent handling characteristics was the feeling of roominess inside. . . . I didn't have the sensation of driving a small car and (he headroom was greater in the Corvair than in some standard size cars. . . ." L. II. Houck, Automotive Reus "So far as shopping goes, the Corvair is a housewife's dream. It's small and easily maneuvered without any power steering, and so easily parked . . . it' a lot easier to unload a cart full of groceries into a 1 front trunk at the supermarket than it is into a rear one." , ; ' Rosemary Francis, Popular Science "I want to state as firmly as I can that the Corvair handles as beautifully and is as safe as if not safer than any family car on the road today." Jim Whipple, Car Life "There is none of the typical whine normally associated with rear-engmed vehicles. Inside the car, the ellect is ijuite unlike anything wc have ever experienced. It almost seems that there is no engine, and the general ellect is so quiet as to be almost uncanny." John R. Bond, Road & Track "No written word can sulhce for the genuine pleasure that you will receive ' Behind the wheel of America's newest and most advanced contribution to trans portation. . . . It is a great car." Don Stavart, Motor Life corvair by Chevrolet Drive itit's fun-tastic! See your local autlwrized Chevrolet dealer for fast delivery, favorable deals. Mfg.
