WEEK-END HERE Miss Jackie Simpson, student at UNC-Wilmington, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Simpson. Mr. and Mrs. Simpson took her back to Wilmington on Sunday. E. CITY GUEST Mrs. Henry Chesson of Elizabeth City was a guest of Whiteston 4-H dub-Meets The Whiteston 4-H Club met February 9 at the Community Building. The meeting was called to order by our president, Marvin Riddick. The pledges were said. Michelle Boyce gave the devotion and Claudia Winslow played the piano while we sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." The secretary read the minutes and called the roll. We had 21 members present. For new business we talked about things to do the following year. Mrs. Rountree gave out some papers which we were to fill in They were the parts of animals. Randy Lassiter played the piano while we practiced some songs. Recreation and refreshments were enjoyed by ail. Mrs. W. T. Smith on Saturday. WEEK-END HERE Cmdr. On next Saturday, February 21, Eastern Quarterly Meeting of Friends will meet at Corinth, Va. with Russell Branson of Guilford Collegewho will speak on the Trust Funds of N. C. Yearly Meeting. On Sunday A. M. at 11:00 Russell Branson will be the speaker at Up River Friends Meeting. Mr. Jasper Winslow and sister, Sybil, spent the week-end in Denton, Md. visiting their sister, Lillian, and husband, Powell Martin. Mr. Martin is ill at his home. John Lassiter and Lillie Jolliff are both improving from illness since their return to their homes from the hospital. Rev. Waldo Smith has returned home from Quaker Lake where he spent the past week attending the Pastor's Short Course. Mrs. Smith is still with her daughter in Mount Airy. The Alice Chappell Missionary Circle will meet at 2:30 on Saturday P. M.. February 28"; with Mrs. Mattie Lassiter as hostess. Mary S. Camp this year will be at Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center from August 17-22. Also the 4-H Bar-B-Que Supper will be March 13 at Perquimans County High School. The group enjoyed recreation after the meeting. David Trueblood - Secretary Dianne Layden gave an in teresting . demonstration on livestock.
