President (Mrs.) Geneva Sawyer presided at the meeting using the regular ceremony. The roll was called and minutes of the last meeting were read. Reports were made and both old and new business was discussed. Dues were collected, and two gifts their value $3.00 in money ner member for the Veterans' Hospital Christmas Gift Shop. It was announced that the First District was hostess at the Department Executive Meeting in Raleigh. Members voted to pay our proportional amount of the expenses. Mrs. Dallas Waters of Plymouth is the new Department President. Plans were discussed to cooperate during the Tri Centennial and to help serve at the Fish Fry, October 17. It was announced the First District meeting will be in Oc tober at Wilson. Refreshments were served to the Legion and Auxiliary by the hostesses, Mrs. Edla Webb, Mrs. Sarah White and Mrs. Eleanor Wilder. SINGSPERATION There will be a Singsperation for all denominations at the Assembly of God Church, 715 W. Grubb Street, Hertford, North Carolina, on Sunday, October 11th, at 3:00 p.m. This Singsperation is being sponsored by the youth group of the church, Christ Ambassadors. Everyone is welcome to come and join in with the fine gospel singing. Guest groups will be there.
