'Brains of the outfit' was Charlie Skinner who devoted much time and sweat to putting the parade together and here is what It will look like. The list is the line-up and we hope it will help you during the parade for purposes of iden tification. C. additions, but the parade should come pretty close to lining up this way: The first section features colonial scenes, antique floats, home makers arts and displays but starts with the Perquimans County Marching Unit. Hertford Jaycees float will re enact the signing of the state's first deed between George Durant and Chief Kilcocanen, An early Quaker Church scene featuring George Fox and William Edmundson, sponsored by the Belvidere-Up River Friends. Jack Caddy portrays North Carolina Governor John Harvey in a float sponsored by the Hertford Rotary Club. An early circuit-riding Methodist preacher Is portrayed by Ed Nixon. Bethel Ruritans will sponsor a float about the area's first Baptist minister, Rev. Martin Ross of Bethel. That will be Thomas E. Chappell. The BPW Club will have a Colonial Women Quilting Party. There will be Colonial Children. Mrs. Brennen Winslow will display an old spinning wheel from the 1700's. An antique parlor scene featuring an 187S organ is sponsored by Byrum Furniture Co. The Hertford Homemakers Club will sponsor Mrs. Eula Riddick and Eliza Perry with an antique soap making float. Haywood Divers Antiques will show an old furniture display. Lester Keel's Trading Post will have an old cobbler shop float. An old-fashioned cooking float will be sponsored by the Winfall Homemakers Club and feature Mrs. Emily Lamb. Winfall Negro Senior Citizens Club will have a multi-service center van. Lloyd Ray Dall will have an antique washing machine float. A barbershop quartet float will be sponsored, appropriately enough, by Blanchard's Barber Shop. Hilda's Florist will sponsor the senior citizens of Hertford. Carroll Williams will have an old shingle mill float An antique farm equipment float willfeature Tom Jenkins. There will be a float sponsored by St. Paul's AME Zlon Church of Hertford. Edwin White of Belvidere will display an 1800 funeral hearse. The first section winds up with a Town of Winfall float, followed by a Town of Hertford float. There will be a 4-H truck with flag guard. 4-H Club members will be on pick-up trucks. Mrs. Bill Cox will feature bicycle units followed by more featuring Mrs. R. B. Gibbs. Boy Scout Troop 155 will be on a pick-up truck. Boy Scout Troop SOS and Winfall Cubs, sponsored by David Brooklns, is next. Cub Scout Troop 155, Wayne White, scoutmaster, will be on a pick-up. The Little League Baseball teams will be on pick-ups. Howard Williams in charge. Betty Hurdles all-girl softball team. American Legion Post 862 will feature Jacob Wills, Jr. playing a ragtime piano. The Winfall Negro Boys and Girls Softball team, sponsored by Mrs. Creecy, will be on a truck. Joseph Layden will sponsor a cotton field weighing float. The Wlnslow-Nlcanor Homemakers Club win sponsor a group of Negro children on cotton bags. They will be on a pick-up truck. Haywood Lilly is in charge. The Perquimans Horse and Pony Club units will be featured. The third section will spotlight agriculture, industry, business and services. It will feature food, clothing and shelter 'On Parade in Perquimans.' The Hertford Livestock and Supply Co. will feature Clark Winslow as Mr. Peanut. J. O. White III and Ray Lamb will have farm-to-market produce trucks. The Camellia milk cow float will be sponsored by McCoy Phthisic. There will be a feature by Gwaltney's Hertford Hog Market White's Bar-b-que will be featured. , A food delivery exhibition will be sponsored by Jackson's Wholesale Co.
