Sht was a most faithful member of Up-Rlver Friends Meeting. Her sweet smile of endurance during the last few months of her illness will long be remembered She was ever faithful to her Lord, her husband and family and her friends and neighbors One of her favorite poems was, "The Friend Who Just Stands By" When trouble comes, your soul to try, You love the friend who just stands by, Perhaps there's nothing he can do - The thing is simply up to you, For there are troubles all yourj own, And paths the soul must travel all alone, The Perquimans County Weekly, Hertford, N. But just to feel you have a friend Who will stand by until the end; Whose sympathy through all endures Whose warm hand clasp is always yours, It helps some way to pull you tnrougn, Although there's nothing he can do. And so with fervent heart you cry, "God bless the friend who just stands by - . -Y.Williams Surely Sobelia was a friend who stood by as best she could, anywhere that she was needed, doing anything she could to help. She liked to entertain visitors in her home, and many were the people who visited there. She will be greatly missed but our loss is heaven's gain so we must bow in humble submission to our dear Heavenly Father's will, knowing that He never makes a mistake. Be it resolved that a copy of this tribute be sent to the Perquimans Weekly, a copy be kept in our minutes, and a copy be sent to the family of the deceased, as an expression of our love for her.
