January September sales totaled $58,593.00. This represents 77.8 percent of Pequimans County's goal of $75,285.00, according to R.L. Stevenson County Volunteer Chairman. Sales of Series E Savings Bonds during September in North Carolina were $(1,753,099, setting a 28-year record for the month. H Bond sales came to $112,000, 42 percent over last September, and the highest for any September since 196fi. Total sales for the month were $6,865,099, 19 percent over last September. January September sales amounted to $63,822.505-the best since 1944, and 89 percent of the state's 1972 dollar goal of $71,700,000. Nationally, during September there were new purchases of fi and H Bonds amounting to $472 million, 13.8 percent above 1971 sales of $415 million. Total Bond sales for the month set a 20-year record for the month and ex ceeded redemptions, at cost price, for the 24th consecutive month, by $113 million. Total cash sales of E and H Bonds for the first nine months of 1972 amounted to $4,774 million, 14.4 percent above a year earlier. Holdings of E and H Bonds reached $56.7 billion, $241 million over last month.
