The three Ruritan Clubs of
Perquimans County - Park
ville, Durants Neck ' and
Bethel met recently at
Angler's Cove for a steak
dinner and awards night
program.

competition for this Soybean "
award which wis presented,

was in charge of the

The speaker for the oc
casion was Jim Wilder,
executive secretary,
Soybean Producers
Association. The award was
presented to Marshall
Caddy, Top Producer of the
three clubs with a yield of
55.84 bushels. Members
participating were
required to follow 1973 State
Soybean Contest rules and
regulations. ! , K
Durants Neck received
the club award with a yield
of 48.23 bushels. Trophies
were compliments of
Perquimans County Farm
Bureau.

V program is attributable to
continued increase in the
use. of physicians' services,
the trend toward more
expensive services, and an
increase in the cost and. use
of hospital outpatient ser-.

He is the son of Mrs. J.E.
Morris and the late Mr.

St.Hertford.
Morris comes to. High
Point from Reidsville 'High
where he has coached the
last seven years. Morris has
coached high school sports
for 1(! years. His first year
was at Edenton and I he next
eight; were at Roxboro
liefore going lo Reidsville. .
Morris ; is a 1 native of
I lertford and was graduated
from Duke University. He
later received his Master
Degree from the University
of North Carolina. ; He ; is
married to the former Ann
Mavo of Plymouth and they

PERSONAL FLOTATION
DEVICES There must be
at least as many approved
personal flotation devices,
of the type required for the
class of boat, as there are
berths. A boat with less than
two bunks must have at
least two approved personal
flotation devices aboard.
Personal flotation devices
must be readily accessible.
FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
All motorboats under
26 feet, whether or not they
are equipped with a fixed
fire extinguishing system,
must carry one hand por
table fire extinguisher of
approved type.
NAVIGATION LIGHTS
must be of a configuration
specified for the class of
boat and must be operative
and fully visible through the
required arc.
DISTRESS FLARE All
motorboats must carry a
distress flare for emergency
signaling.
GALLEY STOVE-If
carried, the galley stove
must be securely mounted
so that it cannot shift
position. Stoves must be in
stalled so that no flammable
materials in the vicinity
can be ignited. Any of the
common types of fuel may
be used except gasoline.
