Page 10-Th Perquimans Weekly, Horner Presides In District Court Judge Fentress Horner presided at the Wednesday session of Perquimans County District Court and heard the following cases: ' .The case of Jackson Hoffler concerning reciprocal support action was continued for 30 days; Eugene Warren was taxed with costs on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. , Connie Lindsey Boedker, charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor, received a 90-day sentence suspended upon payment of a fine of $125.00 and costs, and ordered to surrender license for 12 months; Jimmy Clifton Brothers, charged with driving under the influence, was given a no-day sentence suspended upon payment of a fine of $125.00 and costs, and or dered to surrender license for 12 months; William Isaac Foreman was found not guilty by the court of driving with no operator's license. - William Osborn Creecy was taxed with costs after he was found guilty of carrying a concealed weapon, and ordered to return rifle; Judy Carol Holthouser was taxed with costs on a reckless driving charge. ,' George Riley Whidbee -was given a six months sentence suspended for three years with the con dition that he pay $49.75 damage to Jean Whidbee, ordered to support wife and child, and stay on good behavior, when found guilty of two charges of assault on a female, and destruction of personal property; Emmett Eugene Landing, charged with reckless driving and failure to drive on right side of highway, was fined $25.00 and costs. Harold K. Belote was found not guilty of ob structing officer while in the performance of his duty. Julia Carlos Peralta received a fine of $25.00 and costs on a reckless driving charge; Aaron "Junebug" Wilson, charged with assault with a An area meeting has been scheduled in Edenton on Friday, Dec. 13, to give local people an opportunity to discuss agricultural matters willi several administrators from North Carolina State University. Richard Bryant, Per quimans County extension chairman, said the Edenton meeting has been planned for people of Currituck, Camden, Gates, Dare, Hyde, Pasquotank, Chowan, Perquimans, Washington and Tyrrell counties. Fourteen such meetings are planned across the state in an effort to improve communications between local citizens and the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences at NCSU, Bryant explained. ?The NCSU officials will report on what the University is doing in the way of agricultural teaching research and extension.. Reginald Lee Beasley was found not guilty of driving with no operator's license. Thomas Proctor was found not guilty by the court to the charge of injury to real property. The case of William Harris, charged with assault with a deadly weapon, was continued for two weeks. Archie Lee Bullard was taxed with costs when found guilty of having improper equipment. Richard Earl Hollowell was given a fine of $50.00 and costs on a speeding charge. An appeal was noted and the case was placed on the Superior Court Docket for trial. Farm Bureau Will Meet The election of a new state president will highlight the 39th annual convention of the North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation in Durham, December 8-11. B.C. Mangum, president of the organization for the past 16 years, announced in October that he would retire at the state convention. Voting delegates, representing each of the 100 county Farm Bureaus, will pick a successor to Mangum. Delegates will also draft official , North Carolina Farm Buearu policies, and make recommendations on national issues. Discus sion and action on policy resolutions will . begin on Tuesday afternoon, December 10, and resume Wednesday morning.
