Red Cross officials have pointed out that every 17 seconds someone in the United State needs blood. Since there is no substitute for human blood and no way to manufacture it, these people will die if hospitals District Court He Id Judge Jack Chaffin presided at the Wednesday session of Perquimans County District Court and heard the following cases: In Civil Action, a divorce was granted to Joseph Nowell vs Ann A. Nowell. Other cases heard were: George Edward Armstrong, Jr., charged with carrying a concealed weapon, was given a 90-day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $100.00 and costs, was told not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws for 12 months, and not to have any firearms in his possession for 2 years. The weapon was confiscated and turned over to the Sheriff's Department; The 2 charges of assault on a female against Clement Holly were consolidated for judgment and the defendant received a 6 months sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $50.00 and possible to get the two jeeps requested, the one vehicle will also be available for use by any other agency in need '-. of, it For instance, in, -the cases of accidents in the "woods, the jeep - could go where an ambulance could not. The Jaycees invite the public to join In the fun, enjoy a fish meal, and after the fish fry watch the fireworks display over the Perquimans River.
