The Perquimans County
Baptist Womens Mission
Study held recently at the
Hertford Baptist Church
was reported well attended
by County. Mission Study
Chairperson, Mrs, Clara
Perry. The book, "Tomor
row Starts Today," was,
taught by ReV. Stanley Nix
on of Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney
Copeland and Mrs. Joseph
Ayscue spent the weekend in
Clayton, N.C. where they
visited relatives and
friends. In Four Oaks, they
visited Mr. and Mrs. Allen
Harrell, daughter and
son-in-law of the Copeland's.
They attended church at
Hocutt Baptist in Clayton.
Mrs. Maude Corprew was
released from the
Albemarle Hosptial in
Elizabeth ..City last
Thursday where she had
undergone eye surgery. She
, is now recuperating at the
home of her son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Lawrence Corprew.
Sympathy is extended to
Mrs. Joe Harrell, and
members of the family, in(
the loss of her husband who
died last week.

Two new links were added
to my "chain of friendship"
this week. They are Mrs.
Duffy (Mamie) Saywer, and
Miss Nannie Ward, respec
tively, of Edenton. These
ladies, both octogenarians,
were born and spent their
childhood days in the now
designated Snug Harbor
area. They reminisced of
the big oak tree that stood
near their home and the
happy times spent playing
under it. (This was the huge
oak that stood across the
road from the Clubhouse
and' was cut down only a
couple of years ago.) they
are also amazed that so
many people are now living
in the area, and look for
ward to a return visit to
their former home grounds.
Mrs. J.A. Muller of Port
smouth, Va. visted the M.E.
Nelsons on Sunday. The trio
enjoyed the buffet luncheon
at Mrs. Smith's Restaurant
in Creswell Sunday after
