Miss Steva Sheppard, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Terrence Harris of Roper, Mrs. Jack Nowell Jr. of Belvidere, Mrs. Marvin H. Ward of Elizabeth City and Miss Susanne Owens of Chapel Hill. ; Serving as best man was McMullen White, father of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were James Thomas Sheppard Jr. and James MacNealley Duff Jr., brothers of the bride, Donald White, brother of the bridegroom, Jack Nowell Jr., both of Belvidere ; and Billy Nixon of Elizabeth City. Following the wedding, a reception was held at Pine Lakes Country Club. After a trip to the Bahamas, Mr. and Mrs. White will make their home in Hertford. Announcement Of Engagement Made Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Susan Howard Elwood, daughter of Mrs. Richard J. Elwood and the Late Mr. Elwood of Charlotte, N.C., to H. Craig Sharpe Jr., son of Howard C. Sharpe and the late Mrs. Sharpe of Charlotte, N.C. Miss Elwood is also the granddaughter of Mrs. T.G. Howard and the late Mr. Howard of Hert ford. Miss Elwood is a graduate of Brevard College where she received her associate of arts degree in fine arts, and Salisbury State College where she received her bachelor of science degree in sociology. Mr. Sharpe attended Brevard College and is a graduate of Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C. where he received his bachelor's degree in ec nomics.
