Lee Ernest Warren of Wynne Fork Court, Hert ford, was charged with following too close by Of ficer J.R. Logan following an accident at the intersec tion of Grubb and Edenton Road Streets on Aug. 3 at 8:57 p.m. Officer Logan said that a vehicle driven by Cathy Jo Segranes of 323 N. Church St, Hertford, was yielding to traffic, prepar ing to make a left turn onto Edenton Road St. when the Warren vehicle struck her rear bumper. There was only minor damage to the Segranes vehicle and no damage to the Warren car. CITATIONS Merrill Carlyle Lamb of Rt. 1, Box 172, Edenton, was charged with failing to stop, for a red light at the in tersection of Grubb and Edenton Road Streets in Hertford by Officer J.R. Logan on Aug. 3 at 9:47 p.m. Ronney Gray Belton of 243 Stanaford Rd., Winston Salem, N.C. was charged with speeding 66 mph in a 55 mph zone by Chief Marshall Merritt on U.S. 17 near . Church Street on Sunday at 11:17 a.m. Nelle Lloyd Stanton of Rt. 1, Elizabeth City was charged with speeding 71 mph in a 55 mph zone by Of ficer R.L. Harvey on U.S. 17 near Church Street Sunday at 6:45 a.m. James Edward Modlin of Market St., Hertford, was charged with being a public Health Clinics Are Scheduled The Pasquotank-Perquimans-Camden-Chowan District Health Department has released the following schedule of clinics. For Aug. 15-19, the Per quimans County Health Department located on Charles Street in Hertford wigl read TB skin tests from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. on Monday; eye clinic by appointment through the Department of Social Services, diabetic screening, and family plan ning clinic (12:30 p.m. by appointment) in Tuesday; well baby clinic (1 p.m. by appointment) on Wednes day; X-rays from 9 to 11 a.m. and general clinic from 3-4:30 p.m. along with the W.I.C. program on Thursday. The public is reminded that venereal disease treat ment is available any time of the day on a walk-in basis. The schedule of clinics for Aug. 22-26 wiU be published in next week's edition. The Wednesday story hour (grades 1-3) will end on Aug. 10; the Thursday story hour (grades 4-6) will end on Aug. 11; while the year round Friday story hour will continue as usual for preschoolers. The summer reading derby will end on Aug. 15 and all book reports should be made by that day. Summer reading program certificates will be awarded to all children who have read 25 or more books. The staff is planning special programs to wrap up the summer, so for parents whose children have been active with either the story hours or the reading derby are asked to have them at the appropriate story hour next week. New Books Man in Africa by Colin Turnbull is an overview of man's history in Africa which finds an ancient civilization and culture there much more sophisticated than is usually assumed. N.Y. was ar rested for speeding 69 mph in a 55 mph tone on U.S. 17 near Church St. by Chief Merritt on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. She pleaded guilty before Magistrate Dail and paid and fine and court costs. ' BREAK-IN Sometime during the weeking of July 29 and Aug. 1, someone entered the Agricultural Shop at Per quimans County High School and stole approxi mately $500 worth of tools according to Hertford Police Chief Marshall Merritt who reported that the case is still under investigation.
