the eggplant fritters. None
of the members expressed a
liking for eggplant prior to
sampling the recipe
prepared by Mrs. Taylor.
The members were then in
spired and accepted a copy
of the recipe. They plan to
make and serve the egg
plant fritters to their
family.
In addition to the recipe
demonstration, the meeting
included old and new
business. Under the topic of
old business, it was pointed
out that the club had spon
sored a successful baby con
test. During the new
business, the group made
plans to participate in the
county "Day of Fun" to be
held during August.
Miss W.T. Rlddick,
hostess for the meeting,
served refreshments. A
total of $3 was collected for
club fees. Mrs. Riddick, club
president, presided over the
meeting.

been visiting his grand

were guests last week of Mr.
Phillips' mother, Mrs.
Elaine Phillips. While in
N.C. they also visited the
Weyerhauser Plants in
Plymouth and New Bern.
Mr. Phillips is with the
Weyerhauser organization
in Washington State.
Mrs. Earl Williams is a
patient in Chowan Hospital,
Edenton, Room 2008. Lucille
entered the hospital last
week for surgery on Monday
of this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Evan
Morgan spent last week on
vacation at the their Snug
Harbor home.

Hour followed by a choir
rehearsal. While the choir

the party enjoyed slides of
the Williamsburg Fife and
Drum Corps taken and
shown by Mr. Charles
