Eat slowly. Make meals pleasant events, not hurried tense affairs. 4. Chew foods thoroughly. It will be enjoyed more and the tendency to over-eat will be lessened. Digestion may be improved. 5. Watch the scales. A weight check can help determine whether you are eating too much or too little food. 6. Ask your doctor's guidance if you feel you need to change eating habits. Self-prescribed diets and food supplements may be harmful. 7. Try eating your main meal at noon if sleeping is a problem. A light meal at night, and perhaps a snack at bedtime, may be helpful. 8. SEE OUMD THIS ISSUE began in January to study the need for liability in surance and waya of pro viding coverage at an af fordable price. Tbe com mission was created by the 1977 General Assembly at the request of Governor James B.Hunt Jr. Chaired by J.B. Gibson, President of Jones and Peacock, Inc., a High Point insurance firm, the 12 member commission will look into alternative methods of providing coverage to law enforce ment officers at a price they can afford. Court suits against law enforcement officers have increased in North Carolina and in the nation in recent years, according to Gibson, resulting in an increased - need for liability insurance coverage in the per formance of their routine police duties. One commission member is Sheriff Charles Cahoon of Swan Quarter. "Law enforcement of ficers across the state are becoming increasingly con cerned about law suits be ing brought against them in the performance of their police duties," Gibson said, "yet liability insurance coverage is more difficult and more expensive to pur chase than ever before." "We hope," Gibson con tinued, "that this commis sion will find some ways of providing law enforcement liability insurance at reasonable prices so our law enforcement officers will feel free to perform their duties without fear of law suits being brought against them."
