The boys will compete in three age groups: 13, 14, and IS. A winner and runner-up will be selected from each. At the same time, boys will be registering to play Babe Ruth Baseball this summer. The Babe Ruth League will have a 13-year old division which will run through April and May. When completed, the 13 year olds will go to the big league. Recreation Direc tor Billy Wooten feels that giving the 13-year olds the extra time to adapt to the different field and rules will lessen the problems they will have in the big league. "They (the 13-year olds) will actually get the op portunity to play first against 13-year olds, and then against the 14 and 15 year olds," he said. "Also," he continued, "this should certainly help our 13-year old All-Star team." Wooten lists the ad vantages of Babe Ruth ball as travel, play against bet ter competition, and several extras, such as a planned trip to Baltimore, Md. to see a weekend of Ma jor League baseball, which only boys in the Babe Ruth program will have the op portunity to participate in. Wooten says the boys should fill out a participa tion form, which were passed out in the schools, and bring the fee to play, which is $5. If a boy needs a form, or more information, he should contact the Recration Department. This program is open to all boys in Perquimans Coun ty. In case of rain on the day of the competition and registration, registration only will be held in the high school gymnasium. The cookout will be rescheduled. hgg hunt tomorrow The Perquimans Recrea tion and Parks Department will sponsor and Easter Egg Hunt Friday, (tomor row) March 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hertford Grammar School.
