Association of Elec trical Contractors for sup port with Eugene Boyce, Letters From Our Repden: Editor's Mailbag *.' ? U ft -an* ?* '.it #? ^4re you saved ? To The Editor: We read in the Bible in the book of Acts these words: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh..." This indicates that while wickedness is on theiticrease, at the same time, many today are turning to God for thejr personal salvation. Faith in God is the only answer to the problem we face today. In order to be saved, jtdmit that you are a sinner and be willing to turn form your sins (repent). Believe that Jesus died for you (on the cross) and rose from the dead. Then just call upon Him. "For whomsoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved." Remember that God loves you and wants you to spend all eternity with Him. After you are saved, read your Bible daily, pray and witness for God. If you die without accepting Christ as your personal savior all is lost. Do not delay this decision. ' "Behold now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation." ? "Boast not thyself of tomorrow, lor thouJmowest not what a day may bring forth." We read Rev. 3:10 in reference to the coming rapture of the church, "Because thou hast kept the work of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation which shall came upon all the world, to try them that dwell qpop the earth.!' / ' Today many of our world leaders seem incapable of ra tional thinking. Closer at home, one can readily see from the content of programs on T.V. and the headlines of our newspapers that we are very near this hour of temptation. Be sure you are saved today. Motion was made and seconded that the April meeting be held on the se cond Tuesday due to the an nual meeting on the North Carolina Electrical Institute being held on the first Tuesday. It was agreed that the meeting will be held on the second Tuesday pro vided that it does not con flict with the April program sponsored by the Jordan Company. Meeting was turned over Tax revisions to affect state GREENSBORO - Federal tax law revisions passed in 1977 will affect most North Carolinians, the Internal Revenue Sarvice says. The old standard deduc tion has been replaced by the "zero bracket amount" and will be used by approximately 1.1 million taxpayers in the Tar Heel State. The maximum has been increased to |2,200 for single persons, $3,200 for married filing jointly and $1,600 each for marrieds filing separately. The new tax tables may be used by most North Carolina taxpayers. These tax tables now include per sonal exemptions, the "zero bracket amount" and the general tax credit, and none of these items have to be computed by the tax payer. Persons having moved their place of residence in 1977 may claim expenses if the move was 35 miles or further from their old address. to Louis Cottle and Ed Fox who gave a lecture and slide presentation on Furnas band motor controls.
