( Ward hit 7 of 11 passes for 134 yards, more yardage than recorded by the Pirates entire offense. > The Pirates scored first after an t early fumble recovery by Roy Felton on the Tigers 12 yard line. On 4th down and 7 yards to go, Perquimans quaterback Teton Reid found Virgil Whitehurst in the right side of the end lone to record the Pirates only score of the evening. Richard Thatch's attempted point after touchdown was blocked. Willimston's first score was set up by a 36 yard strike from Ward to end Michael Peele to put the ball on the Pirates 5 yard line. On a first and goal situation, Willigham plunged into the end zone to tie the score. Rodney Conner's extra point was good and the Tigers were on top to stay.
