We will accept any guest reviewer ? call the library for details. Listed below are two new books that are highly recommended: Dickson, Margaret ? "Octavia's Hill," Houghton-Miffen, 1983. c. 384 p. With the holiday season fading into history, "Octavia's Hill' is a fascinating book with which to start your reading in the new year. This poignant and suspenseful novel begins in the horse-and-buggy era and takes its readers into the nuclear age. The Perry family had always lived on Octavia's Hill in rural Maine. Their joys, sorows, secrets, and tragedies seem to be a part of the land itself. The reader meets the men and women of the Perry family and feels their triumphs and defeats. The characters and terrifying events will remain with the reader long after the story is ended. Ruth Mackey Hofler Ervin, Sam J., "Humor of a Country Lawyer," University of NC Press, 1983. c. 260 p.
