Resources Commission would like to
hear from you.
Public meetings to gather input
from sportsmen on hunting and
trapping regulations will be hied in
Gatesville on January 23, at the
courthouse at 7:30 p.m.; Williamston
OR January 24, at the new courthouse
ai 7:30 p.m.; Manteo on January 25,
at the courhouse at 7:30 p.m.; and
Plymouth on January 30, at the
courthouse at 7:30p.m.
"This series of public meetings will
allow sportsmen to offer suggestions
on regulations while the hunting and
trapping seasons are still fresh on
their minds," said Jerry Wright of
Currituck, Wildlife Commissioner for
District One.
"In the past, we have often
received excellent suggestions from
sportsmen at public hearings, but
didn't have enought time to develop
them into proposals for the upcoming
seasons. These early meetings will
allow us to do that for good
suggestions; we urge all interested
sportsmen to attend."

There will be a meeting for In
terested persona on Tuesday,
January M, at 7:00 p.m. at the Union
School Gym. this league is for anyone
over 90 years old and are not playing
in the adult basketball league.
MIDGET BASKETBALL - On
Wednesday, January II, the Royals
defeated the Nuggets 22-15 on
opening night of the season. Leading
scorers for the Royals were:
Timothy Fletcher 8, Willie Parker 8,
Henry Felton 4 and Kris LeRoy 2.
The Nuggets had a balanced attack
that fell short in a fourth quarter
rally. Leading scorers were: Wallace
Weeks 4, Clinton Brothers 4, Clint
Wlnslow 3, Todd Fain 2 and Matt
Matthews 2.
On Saturday, January 14, the
Bucks ran past the Nuggets 30-8.
Leading scorers were: Jospeh
Parker 14, Oscar Wells 10, William
Wilson 4 and Matt Hurdle 2.
The Nuggets were lead by Todd
Fain with 4 points. Both Clinton
Brothers and Matt Matthews had two
points.
In other action the Royals
remained unbeaten with a 21-6 win
over the Devils. The Royal* were
lead by Anthony Turner t. Willie
Parker 7, Timothy Fletcher 2, Kris
LeRoy 2 and Henry Felton 1.
The Devils could not get anything
going In the secood half, they were

the Devils were Xavier Shan
nonhouae 4 and Undsey Riddlck 2.
JUNIOR BASKETBALL - On
Saturday. January 14, the Hertford
Junior team were defeated by the
Edenton Knicks 26-25 in overtime.
Hertford held a 19-6 halfUme lead
but were cold in the second half,
leading scorers for Hertford were:
David Johnson I, Arvin Johnson I,
Gwan Skinner 4, Fen-ante Downing 2
and Tyrone Spellman 2.
ADULT BASKETBALL - This
year the league has eight teams.
Games are played every Monday and
Thursday nights at Union School
Gym with the first game beginning at
6:30.

uniforms for the Youth Soccer
Program.
