V. iav New car brokerage opens in area Edward T. Byrnes announced the opening this week of his "Engage-A Car" brokerage at 7 Westover Heights in Edenton. The company will be active in leasing new cars, vans and light trucks ? foreign and domestic ? to individuals and firms through the Engage-A-Car program. According to Byrnes, Engage-A Car differs from other programs in that it "combines the best features of both open and closed-end leasing and then introduces many additional benefits. The end result is that the consumer is able to obtain the exact vehicle he or she wants with lovyer montly payments." "One of the unique features of Engage-A-Car." pointed out Byrnes, "is our Protection Plan Option which offers our clients a no-lose op portunity. If at the end of their Beasley named Asst. D.A. Nancy S. Beasley assumed duties last week as an Assitant District Attorney, becoming the first female prosecutor in the history of the seven county First District that covers the Albemarle region. Superior Court Judge Thomas S. Watts adminstered the oath of office to Beasley in ceremonies Tuesday, January 4, in Dare County Superior Court in Manteo. H. P. Williams Jr., District At torney for the First District, anounced the appointment of Beasley. Wiliams said, "I am pleased to have Ms. Beasley join our staff. I am confident she will vigorously represent the interests of the State of North Carolina." Beasley is a 1982 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, where she served as president of the Student Bar Association in 1981-1982. Ms. Beasley, a native of Troy, N. C. , completed her undergraduate education at Appalachian State University, graduating magna cum laude in 1977 with a degree in social science. After completing her un dergraduate education, Beasley was employed with the Governor's High way Safety program before entering law school. 'engagement' period, the used car market's up, he has the right to dispose of the car on his own and he's welcome to pocket ALL the profits." "On the other hand, if the market's down, he can simply exercise his option to return the car and just walk away. That's why Engage-A-Car is really the common-sense way to drive the car of your choice." Byrnes, is a graduate of Ap palachian State University in Boone, N, C. , former Officer of North Carolina National Bank, Edenton, N. C. Active in community affairs, he is past treasury of the Edenton Jaycees and is presently a member of the Edenton Optimist Club. "With the cost of new cars sky rocketing (industry experts predict that the average Chevrolet, Ford or Plymouth will be sticker-priced at nearly fifteen thousand dollars by the mid eighties), something had to be developed to help the motoring public," Byrnes commented. "The answer is Engage- A-Car. The reason for the low monthly payments is that with or method, the future trade-in value of the new car is deducted in advance. By doing this, we are able to dramatically reduce the montly payments. In other words, if the book says your $10,000 car will be worth $5,000 at the end of three years, we simply deduct that $5,000 immediately." "That means your montly payments have to be lower! Also, the consumer can utilize the funds he would have normally put into a down payment ? for vacations, ap pliances, home remodeling or any worthwhile purpose." A 12-page free brochure entitled, "ENGAGE-A-CAR . . THE MODERN ANSWER TO SOARING NEW CAR PRICES" may be ob tained by writing to Edward Byrnes, 7 Weitover Heights, Edenton, N. C. 27932, or call 482-2728.
