LOCAL NEWS Area obituaries LAMB Rev. Louis Roy Lamb, 62, of Route t. Box 329, died early Saturday at his residence following a brief illness. Lamb, a native of Pasquotank County, had lived in Perquimans Coanty most of his life. He was a retired farmer and logger. He was also a minister and evangelist. Lamb was the son of the late Louis D. and Eltodia Chappell Lamb. He is survived by his wife, Anna Louise Ferrell Lamb of the home; oai daughter, Mrs. Wanda Cooper of Hertford; one son, Louis Roy Lamb of Hertford; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Ferrell of Hertford and Mrs. Mildred Papuchis of Norfolk, Va.; three half sisters, Mrs. EUodia Raby and Mrs. Hattie Harris, both of Elizabeth City, and Mrs. Florence Boone of Florida; four half-brothers, James Lamb, Carroll Lamb Maxie Lamb, all of Hertford, and Thomas Lamb of Elizabeth City; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p m. in Twiford Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Marvin Baccus and the Rev. Calvin Twiddy of Norfolk, Va. Burial followed in Westlawn Memorial Park. GREGORY Mr*. Geneva Ownley Gregory of Route 4. Box 102 died Thursday . March 15, in Albemarle Hospital. A native of Pasquotank County, she had lived in the WoodviUe section of Perquimans County for the past 18 years. She was retired from Belk Tyler, having worked for 20 years as a saleslady. She was a member of Woodville Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Annie Estell Boswell Ownley, and the widow of Ackiss Love Gregory. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ann Bright and Mrs. Helen Fay Winslow, both of Elizabeth City; a son, Curtis A. Gregory of Elizabeth City; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle O. Wood of Hertford; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Twiford's Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Joseph H. Scalf. A native of Pasquotank County, he had lived in Perquimans County all his life. He was a mechanic for Perry Toyota and a member of Parksville Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was the son of Mrs. Elsie Baker Lowe Muse of Hertford and the late Walton David Lowe. He was the husband of Mrs. Alice Capps Lowe of the home. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Deborah L. Lamancusa and Emily Lowe, both of Washington, Mrs. Peggy L. Forehand of Elizabeth City and Elsie D. Lowe of Hertford; two sons, Thomas E. "Buddy" Lowe Jr. aud Walton David Lowe, both of Hertford; a brother, David Lawrence Lowe of Hertford; and (our grandchildren. POTMAN Ida Mae Stafford Pittman, <3, of Route 3, a native of Pasquotank County, died Sunday in a hospital. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Emory Pittman; a daughter, Eva P. Halsey of Smyrna, Del.; a brother, Floyd Stafford of Elisabeth City; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Victory Baptist Church by the Rev. Reggie Parker. Burial followed in Westlawn Memorial Park. Region celebrates 75th Anniversary of '* Home Economics The 75th anniversary celebration of the American Home Economics Association was observed by the Northeast Region on March 15 in Elisabeth City. Sylvia Matthews of Hertford was chairman of the planning committee for the event. Home economists, Paige Underwood, Nina White and na Grey White also served on the committee. Perquimans County Home Economists were recognised for many outstanding accomplishments. An exhibit featuring all the chairmen of the Northeast region paid tribute to Gaye Howell as the first chairman of the organization, who served for one and one-half years, 1969-70. She was elected at the first meeting and represented the region as delegate to AHEA. Paige Underwood and na Grey White also served as regional chairman. Nina White is chairman elect of the regional organization. A slide presentation of the Heritage of Home Economics was presented. The celebration ended with the cutting of the birthday cake and an "Ode to Home Economics." ? Serving on the regiatratlon : - committee were Chairman Nina White, Gajre Howell and Evelyn ^ Stubbina.
