OPTOMETRIST ANISEIKONIA ANISEIKONIA meant that thcrt arc unequal sized or shaped image* sent to the brain from each eye. For normal, comfortaolo, binocular vision, the difference cannot be mor* than throe or four percent. A greater amount can procedure symptoms of mild to severe heodoches and even double vision. When the prescription for the lenses in the two eyes differ drastically from lens to lens, aniseikonia is a probability. Some times the very glasses which correct other vision defocts will pro duce the condition. That being the case, you would be tested for aniseikonia. Unfortunately this doesn't always happen. This Is too bad, because the symptoms of this condition can be relived readily with special glasses or contact lenses. The most Important thing is detection. It has been estimated that thero may be millions of people who suffer the discomforts of aniseikonia without even knowing it. Dr. A.F. Downum 103 W. Eden St. Edenton, N.C. Phone: 482-8444
