Morgan has been nameddirec tor, planning and analysis by Champion International Cor poration. In this position he is responsible for providing plan ning, marketing, and business analysis support to the com pa , ny's business management func tion. Mr. Morgan joined Champion in 1976 as a cost accountant with the Company's Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, paper mill. He was named accounting manager in 1978, systems coordinator in 1900, and manager of economic analysis in 1983. Previously, he served with the U.S. Navy for six years. He is member of the National Association of Accountants and the Paper Industry Manufactur ers Association where he also served for two years on the management information sys tems committee. He received an associate de gree in allied health from George Washington University and a B.S. in business from the Atlantic Christian College in 1976. The same year he was awarded the Wilson Chamber of Commerce Award from the Wil son, North Carolina, business community. A native of Perquimans County, Mr. Morgan and his wife reside in Monroe, Connecti cut. .They have two children. He currently paticipates in both the Monroe Parent Teachers Orga nization and the Cub Scouts. Volunteers sought for home-delivered meals program If you have a desire to help provide an important commu nity service, this is for you. The Albemarle Commission, located in Hertford, operates Home- De livered Meals Programs in Co lumbia, Edenton, Elizabeth City, Hertford, Plymouth and the Swan Quarter area. Through this program many of the area's homebound elderly receive a hot, nutritious lunch each day, delivered by a team of dedicated and caring volun teers. Delivering meals is a very re warding experience. It takes less than one hour of your time each day you volunteer. When and how often you vounteer is completely up to you. What about it? This was the third reunion held dur ing the 37 years since their graduation. A social hour was held from 6:30 to 7:30, followed by dinner. The menu consisted of ham, tur key, clam strips, yams, string beans, June peas, slaw, rolls, lemon or chocolate pie, tea and coffee. Leon Lane gave the invo cation. The class colors of red and white wre carried out in deco rating with red program book lets, red candle holders, red napkins and mixed flower ar rangements for the centerpiece. Howard Broughton, class president, presided. He gave each member and guest the op portunity to give a brief sum mary of what had happened since the last reunion 13 years ago. The committee also invited the class members who started out in high school but did not graduate for various reasons. Our class mascot, Dianne Hurdle Riddick, and husband Donald, were invited and recog nized. Willard Coepland read the class history to refresh the memories of our former class mates whom had not been with us before, jean Hurdle Vick, class poet, reasd a poem she composed in her senior year. There were pictures of an nuals, high school snapshots and grandchildren on display. Favors and door prizes were donated by various merchants from Hertford and Edenton. One of the class members, Hill ary Scaff, took pictures. Bryan O'Leary presented music of the 40's through the 80's. Mrs. C.R. Holmes, senior tea cher, sent her best regrds tot he class since she was unable to at tend. Also, Mildred Skinner Lambden of Tennessee called and sent her regards. Letters were read by John and Eliza beth Ward of those who ac knowledged they were unable to attend. Those attending from out of town were: Mrs. Myrtle N. El liott Glur, Columbus, Neb. ; Ann Proctor Mass, Pewaukee, Wis.; Doris Butt Carpenter, Great Falls, Va.; and Sister Norma Butt Perry, New Hope. Area obituaries KOELENBEEK Joseph Koelenbeek, 66, of F-15 Pine Street (Snug Harbor), died Thursday afternoon, July 4, in Chowan Hospital. A native of Portland, Maine, he was the husband of Mrs. Ma mie Frances Curtin Koelenbeek. He was a retired tire manager for Colonial Chevrolet Company of Norfolk and an Air Force vet eran of World War II. Besides his wife survivors in clude two daughters, Mrs. Julie K. Stinedurf of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Jan K. Ewell of Chesa peake, Va.; two sons, John Jo seph Koenebeek and James Ray Koelenbeek, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Ad eline Dubay of Mesa, Arizona and Millie Darling of Portland, Maine; a brother, Ray H. Koe lenbeek of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren. The body was cremated. COX Cecil Wilkerson Cox, M, of Route 1, Snug Harbor, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peggy Grimes. A native of Forsythe County, N.C., he was the widower of Bessie Ring Cox. He was a re tired security gurad and was a member of the Red Bank Bap tist Church of Winston-Salem. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Grimes of Route 1, Hertford and Mrs. Dorothy Fletcher of Winston-Salem; three sons, Jim Cox and Johnny Cox, both of Winston-Salem and Oscar Cox of Michigan; one sis ter, Mrs. Doris Wrenn of Ra leigh; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The remains were removed from Swindell Funeral Home to the Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Winston-Salem for a chapel service Wednesday.
