Grammar School Chalkdust
My, my, my, everywhere I
looked all week there was EBM
(Easter Bunny Mania) at Hertford
Grammar School. In the mornings
the hallways were silent due to
CAT testing, but in the afternoons,
oh my, they came alive. I saw Eas
ter baskets, Easter bonnets, col
ored eggs and bunny ears and
masks, parading up and down the
kindergarten hall. I even saw a
class hopping happily along, com
plete with little cotton bunny tails
and whiskers too. The kids really
had a good time getting ready for
the Easter Bunny.
Chocolate party
On Thursday the Hospitality
Committee treated teachers to a
Chocolate Party. I've heard that
chocolate contains an ingredient to
relieve stress and I guess they fig
? ured that after a week of CAT and
EBM (see above) we really needed
it. Anyway, the Chocolate Party
was really fun and the rich food
was positively sinful. I won't go
into any more details because I
don't want you drooling on the
newspaper and you're probably
. chocolated out from sneaking your
- kid's Easter candy anyway!
Sticker contest winner
; Congratulations to Mrs. Ward for
- winning the Hidden Sticker contest
?" for teachers. She found over 31
- stickers hidden around the school.
' (There must be something wrong
* with me because I couldn't find
even one sticker. Not one! ! ! I was
I even given a hint that there was
; one hidden in my room, but I
' couldn't even find that one -finally,
on Friday, Mrs. Clemmons took
pity on me and showed me where it
was. I don't know how I could have
missed it ? there it was plain as
" day, under-my-desk! Like I get
down on my hands and knees every
day to look under my desk, right? )
' Anyway, Mrs. Ward won the grand
prize, the ultimate treat - her class
- gets to see a movie in the library
! and she gets a break!
Easter egg hunt
I Students from Mrs. Evelyn Stub
? bins' "Parent and Child-Care De
velopment" class visited the TMH
; class on Friday. Anthony Bell,
- Vickie Parker, Deborah Coston,
1 Angie Mallory, and Heather Rilee
- helped Miss Ansink's students
1 make darling little Easter baskets
* and then had an indoor Easter egg
hunt for them. The students
searched from one end of the
lunchroom to the other for candy
filled eggs. After sweeping through
the lunchroom in about three min
utes, leaving no object unsearched,
the students and their helpers went
back to their classroom to enjoy
their loot and sing Easter songs. A
great time was had by all.

the students in Mrs. Long's 3rd

Inside a Deep Dark Cave
One night I walked into a cave
and saw a skeleton. It started run
ning after me. I stopped. Then I
saw a mummy and a vampire. I
jumped and started running. They
ran after me. I ran faster. The
vampire caught me but I escaped
because I stuck my pencil in his
heart! The mummy came after me
but his mommy called him. I
sighed with relief. Then the skele
ton caught me but luckily he fell
apart. When I reached the en
trance of the cave, a whole bunch
of weirwolves jumped out. I took
my pencil and went straight to
their hearts, I killed them. Then
the mummy came and I unw
rapped him! Tonight was one
scary night!

How to Make Breakfast
Now I will tell you how to make
breakfast. First get everything you
need - your bowl, cup, cereal, and
milk. Next pour the cereal into the
bowl. Get your juice and pour that
into the cup. Finally you eat your
breakfast.

The Brave Woodcutter
Once upon a time, there was a
brave woodcutter who went to a
town called Cedar Grove. He
chopped and chopped until one day
the people in Ceaar Grove told him
the mean things a giant had done to
them. The brave woodcutter said
he was going to stop the giant. He
went inside a deep dark cave
where the giant lived. The giant
came out and shook the whole
world. Even Cedar Grove shook.
The woodcutter said in a little
voice, "Are you the giant?" The gi
ant said, "Yes". So they had a chat
and became good friends.
