Tre Brothers, 19, was shot and
killed early Monday in a Per
quimans County home during
a reported dispute over alleged
stolen property
Perquimans County Sheriff
Eric Tilley said Brothers was
shot in the facial area with a
12-gauge shotgun during an ar
gument at 124 Albemarle Road
located near Harvey Point Road.
He was transported by Perqui
mans EMS to Chowan Hospital
in Edenton where he died.
Tilley said his office is inves
tigating persons of interest who
may no longer be in the area in
connection with the shooting
that was reported on a cell phone
by an anonymous female caller
at 12:10 a.m.
Five people were on the prop
erty at the time of the shooting,
Tilley added.
Brothers reportedly travelled
back and forth between the Per
quimans County residence and
a home in Goldsboro, said Tilley.
The home in which the shooting
occurred is owned by John and
Sarah Blount of Elizabeth City,
according to county tax records.
Investigation into the shoot
ing is continuing by the sheriffs
department assisted by the State
Bureau of Investigation.
This makes the second murder
reported in Perquimans County
in the last two months.
The body of 28-year-old Chad
Colson was found in a Holiday
Island Road ditch on Feb. 21. His
body was badly beaten and suf
fered multiple lacerations.
The next day, sheriff deputies
arrested a 19-year-old construc
tion worker in connection with
Colson’s death.

Winslow is Jesus in Easter musicals
Actor has played

a wooden cross across his

like an eternity on that

But Philip Winslow of
Hertford smiles when
asked why he joyfully
puts himself in such an
uncomfortable position-if
only for just minutes on
three nights a year.
“To give God honor and
glory and to tell the story
of what Jesus did for us
when he came and died on
the cross,” said Winslow
who has portrayed Jesus ,
in Easter musical pro

Methodist Church for the
last 21 years. “And the

for the role other than
prayer each day before
the performance. I always

and let Christ be seen. He
gives me the strength to
