Edenton to host music festival May 29-30 From staff reports EDENTON — The an nual Edenton Music and Water Festival will be held May 29-30 both on and off the water. There will be a guided paddle on that Friday eve ning from the Queen Anne launch. The 1.5 mile begins at 6:30 p.m. and for those in need of a kayak, one can be reserved by contacting or ganizers ahead of time. For more information call 800- 7754)111. The Saturday program will include the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band Full Spectrum per forming on the Broad Street Stage from 5:30 - 8 p.m. There will be two stages for the first time with en tertainment beginning at 10 a.m. on the Park Stage and nrnning until 5:30 pm. The program will include regional talent and some of the musicians will be roving along Broad Street from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The newly opened 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse Will be open for touring and lighthouse related activities for all ages will be available. Vendors will set up early Saturday morning; includ ing representatives from the Farmers Market with their home grown selections. There will be two guided paddles May 30 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. for those that just want to get out on the water and venture through Pembroke Creek and Eden ton Bay. There will also be paddle boards avail able - and for those willing - paddle board yoga. A replicn of an 18th cen tury Periauger will be in the harbor for touring and sail ing opportunities and free boat rides along the bay from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. that Saturday. The Eastern 4-H Center Counselors will be on hand with Stand up Paddling as well as kayak and canoe demonstrations for all ages and levels of in terest.
