Dot after dot I'm filled below and above On lines measuring time for other. On my flatness symbols are spread out, Indicating how the seasons go by. Digits of exactness leave nothing to doubt Of accurate counts low or high. WHAT AM I? Folks lose track of time without my use. And can't keep days and weeks straight. Where I am in lack there is no truth Of whether monthly records run late. I'm essential for industry and for farming, And this no one can deny. Men of integrity find it quite alarming If my services were never given a try. WHAT AM I? Other than figures there are marks upon me To indicate days, weeks, and months. I don' t measure liquors as you plainly see While each twelve pages I use once. How long am I used within a year As time adjusters upon me rely? I've never refused to indicate Christmas Near, And I don't have to explain why. WHAT AM I? THE ANSWER TO LAST WEEK'S RIDDLE IS FAffi OF SHOES. THIS RIDDLE WILL BE ANSWERED IN THE NEXT ISSUE OF THE TRIBUNAL AU). m Shaw Bears Ready For Opener PRE—SEASON FOOT BALL TALK Fayetteville Slate Uni versity (N.C.) head foot ball coach Ray McDougal makes a pre-season foot ball point to his players during pre-season drills recently.
