Gofcrth as told to Don Aberuethy) How long: bavo you been taking Kings fountain Herald Mr. Goforth? I hn've been taking the Herald since 1KP7. I remember when the Herald wus operated by H. P. Allison and he had as assistants Leslie McGlnnls and C. E. Russell. Of course all the typo was laboriously set by hand I end It took all the force all the week preceding the issue- to accomplish | the fete of getting out the regular l weekly paper. As far as I know they never missed a copy. 1 started carrying the mall March 2, 1902, and carried a route for thirty cue years- and seven months. My entire life has been spent in and around Kings Mountain. 1 attended the Old Kings Maun-, tstln Academy as a youth and re-, member most distinctly. at a commencement while Dr. Dickie was lt.'udniuster, the explosion of n lamp. There was a ?arge crowd in attendance and 1 never saw a place clear I out as soon as that did.. The fire however, was of no consequence as. 1 It was soon extinguished. Capt. They were close friends of mine.
