Meeting Of Circles
Meetings of the Circles of the
First Baptist church were held this
week as follows: The Judson Circle
met at the home of Mrs. E. C. Mcclain
on Monday evening with Mrs.
MoClain and Mrs. Baxter Wright as
hostesses. The Ann Haseltlne Circle
met at the home of Mrs. , G. A.
Bridges on Monday . evening with
Mrs. Bridges and Mrs. C. C. Edens,
hostesses. On Monday afternoon
Mrs. Manly Moorhead was hostess
to the Lula Herndon Circle.
Decorations suggestive of the Yule
tide seasons were used and the
Christmas motif also observed in the
refreshments served during the social
hour. The usual exchange of
Christmas gifts were also made at
each meeting.
Meeting of Legion
Auxiliary
The meeting or the American Legion
Auxiliary was held Tcesday at
I ternoon with Mrs. Paul Mauney and
Mrs. W. S Mauney, hostesses. The
home was arranged with flowers
and other decorations in keeping
with the season.
Mrs. Paul Mauney had charge of
the program, the topic for the month
being "Rehabilitation." Mrs. J. E
Mauney gave the message of the
National President, Enid' Lemstra,
the subject of which was, "Christmas,
A Season of Rededicatlon of
Faith and Hope for Mankind," and
"Tapestry of Service, by Mrs. Mark
W. Murrill, Chairman of National
Rehabilitation Committee. Mrs. Paul
Mauney read "They Called Him
Mike," by Milo J. Warner, National
Commander American Legion.
Plans were made for the sending
of cards and Christmas gifts to patients
at Oteen and also for Christmas
baskets to be distributed.
A sweet course with tea was sdP
ved.
