D. Patrick, Pastor, who Issued the following announcement: "In a world filled with sadness this should be the most solemn Christmas In the memory of living men. Men are dying in desperation, most of them are dying with hut little faith that their children will not likewise die. "Such a Christmas should be surpassingly a day of prayer In rceogni tion of this supreme need the First Presbyterian Church will be open from nine a. m. until nine p. m. tor prayer atid meditation. The invitation is not only to Pres byterians but to all Christians, to cojite to the church during the day t and to spend a few minutes in prayer and meditation. Lions Hear Shelby Speaker Forest Hamrick, former President of the Shelby I.ions Club, made a very inspiring address at the Lions Club meeting here Tuesday night. Mr. Hamrick was introduced by Lion Lee Roberts, former citizen of . Shelby. Bach member of the Club brought toys to be distributed to the needy children of Kings Mountain. Lion Bus Oatcs reported that U. N. C. Head Football Coach, Ray Wolf, had been secured as the principal speaker for the annual football banquet at which time letters to the high school players are award od. Pictures of the iDuke-Caroltna game will also be shown at the ban quet which will be held In the early spring. Lion W. J.
