r ; ' H Friday. April 16.1948 ' " ' 1 Country Club Scene Of Delightful Party The Kings Mountain Country Club was the scene of a delightfv party last Friday afternoon wh<:n Mrs. L. E. Abbott and Mrs. J. D. Long, Jr., entertained a large group of friends at bridge. In the playing rooms, where nine tables' were arranged, a variety of spring flowers were grouped effectively to form a colorful decorative note. When scores were tallied, prizes were presented to Mrs. H. E. Lynch, Mrs. P. M. Neisler and Mrs. Howard Jackson. After the presentation of prizes, an attractive and tasty salad and dessert course was served., Miss Evelyn Edens Charmingly Honored Miss Evelyn Edells, whose marriage to Joe Hawkins will take place Friday^ was paid charming compli* men! last WwinpsHav a?ntni> u?hon Mrs. Glee A. Bridges and Miss Emo1^". gene Bridges entertained in her hon or at a personal shower. ^ Iris, spirea, and other spring flow ers in striking arrangements were used to decorate the party room and the guest of honor's place was especially pretty, being marked with white flag lilies and satin ribbon. Novel bridal contests were enjoyed and upon their ending, Miss Edens was presented a large number of beautiful glft&. Afterwards the hostesses served a detectable ice cream' dessert course. The attractive new home was tastefully derorated with a profusion of white flowers. On her arrival, Miss Edens was presented a miniature corsage which she wore during the evening.
