Heart of Senior Woman's Club To Meet March 8th The monthly meeting of the Senior, Woman's Club will .be held in the club house Friday night, March 18, at 7:30. Mrs. Aubrey Mauney, president, states this is to be an important . meeting as delegates are to be elec- j ted to attend the convention to be held in Goldsboro in April. Also of ficers for the year are to be elected at this meeting. Mrs. P. D. Patrick is program chair man and will present a program on "Do The Best People Elect The Worse Officers?" Mrs. N. F. McGiLI is hostess chair man. Mrs. C. D. Blanton N Hostess To D. A. R. Mrs. C. D. Blanton entertained members of the D. A. R. for their regular monthly meeting on Wed nesday afternoon. The home was lovely with bowls of mixed spring flo^erfi. Mrs. Jesse Riser, Regent, presided over the preliminaries and business. Pay and Mrs. Harmon had the opening ritual. Mrs. H. T. Fulton, sr., read some Jtwlutions recently adopted by the National D. A. R 's. These were a greed upon by the* local chapter. Neisler Dogwood, the lovely home of Mrs. Joe Neisler, was artistically aranged with spring blossoms on Tuesday af ternoon when she was hostess to members of the Tuesday Bridge club. ? Mrs. Allen Julien of Larchmont, N. Y., house guest of Mrs. P. M. Neisler was an invited guesrt. Mrs. GeoTge Lattimore was the re cipient of the high score prize. Bridge Party Honors Bride-Elect Five tables of bridge were in play Saturday afternoon in the private dining room, of the Country Club with Mrs. O. P. Lewis and Mrs. W. L. Ramseur, hostesses, paying char ming compliment to Miss Je'Anne Griffin, bride-eleet, and members of the Tuesday Night bridge club, and a few close friends of Miss Grif fin. . -? .. The honoree's place was marked with a corsage of red rosebuds. Tables wend appointed for refersh ments on the guests arrival and a very tempting dessert course was served. Mrs. Carl Weisener was winner of the high scone prize, Miss .Griffin winning low. Miss Griffin, honoree, was given a Better Home and Garden Cook Book. " , Miss Lenora Plonk, also a bride-e lect, was given crystal in her chosen pattern. Dutch iris, azaleas, and flowering shrubs were used in decorations. Mrs. H. R. Hunnicutt Fetes Ace Of Clubs The Ace of Clubs met witht Mrs. Harold Hunnicutt at her home on Piedmont av^nufc Thursday after noon. k Azaleas, carnations and dutch iris were effectively used throughout the rooms. Invited to play with club members were, Mrs. Gordon Riley, Mrs. J. B. Simpson, Mrs. Jack Day, Mrs. Hal Plonk, Mrs. L. E. Abbott, Mrs. Jacob Mauney, Mrs. G. H. Mauney, Mrs. Drace Peeler and Mr#. Sam Davis. After the progressions scores were compared and awards presented to Mrs. L. 12. Abbott, high, Mrs. Sam t Davis, second high, Mrs. Carl Maup~ ey, third high. The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Har ry Page, served a salad and sweet course with coffee. Mrs. Howard Ware Hostess To Circle The Estille Councilman Circle met at the home of Mrs. Howard Ware, Tuesday night. Six members and one visitor were present. Mrs. Ware, leader, presided over the business session. It was voted to remember Miss Councilman with a birthday gift. The Annie Armstrong offering for Home Missions was ta ken at this time. The Guide To Community Mis sions was taught by Mrs. C. C. Oates. A salad and sweet course with cof fee was served during the social hour. Lutheran Ladies ^ Hold Week Of Prayer During the past week the Womero of St. Matthew's Lutheran church' have been holding their .annual week of Prayer and Sell- Denial for Missions. Meetings were held each) day on the theme, "The Way To? Peace," On Sunday evening the pub lic closing meeting will be held at 7:30 p. m. The message for this ser vice will be brought by the pastor.
