Huffstetler enterained at a sur prise buffet dinner honoring her hus band Henry S. Huffstetler familiar- j ly known as "Oncle Henry" on his 72nd birthday anniversary. The home was thrown ensuite and lavishly decorated With tulips and other seasonable flowers. The eye catching arrangement of the table was the large birthday cake with 72 ligfcted candles. Guests entered singing "Happy Birthday" and showered him with gifts. .. Attractive tal lies and napkins ad'ded both color and charm to the table appoint ments. Apple pie, nut cups with as sorted nuts and coffee was served by the hostesses assisted by Mrs. G A. Bridges, Mrs. B. T. Wright, jr., Mrs. Stalling* and Mrs. D. F. Hord, Jr ._/ ? Two floating prizes were offered; one for bidding and making a slam one for a trick taken with the nine of trumps. During the four progres sions these prizefe were kept on the move. When cards were laid aside and scores counted high award went to Mrs. Jim Smith, low to Mrs. Fuller McGill. For bidding and making a slam Mrs. J. M. Cooper carried off the prize with Mrs. L. E Abbott capturing- the other floating prize. Chip McGinnis Feted On Second Birthday A delightful meeting of the Tues day Night Bridge Club was held this week wirh Mrs. Frank Hoyle af hostess at -her home on Railroad av enue. . Artistic arrangements of lilies and lilacs made the home unusually col orful for the three tables that were appointed for refershments on the arrival of the guests. Each table was centered with a miniaure basket of spring flowery, a very tempting des sert course with nuts and coffee wan served. , ? . After the progressions score prizes were awarded Mrs. E. A. Smith and Mrs. C. T. Carpenter, Jr., Mrs. Wm. Brewer of Alexander, Va., a former member, was also presented a gift. Those playing other than club mfmberc were Mrs. Wm. We made some Easter place cards to go on the; plates at the County Home on Eas ter day. Then we cleaned up our room. We hJtve some pretty green and white curtains and a table, draped in green. This week we are going to make Buddy Burners.
