Party Shower For Mrs. Aaron Allen ?Mrs. Sam Hamrick and Mrs. Geor ge Allen entertained Friday night at Mrs. Hamrick's home at a party and miscellaneous Shower compM minting Mrs. Aaron Allen, whose wedding took place on Saturday, August 13. Guests enjoyed Bingo and a num ber of informal games and contests. After the play period the hostesses served ice cream, cookies, lemonade and mints, using a green and white ? decorative color note on refreshment * Plates. The gifts were then presented to the bride. The J. H. Davis Hosts At A Family Reunion Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Davis were hosts at a family reunion at their home on Sunday, September 4. Scavenger Hunt Saturday Night The following ve?y unique in vita tions cut from brown paper wore issued last week: Warned . . "Per son's Name" for Scavenger Hunt last seen with * "Person's Name". When ail had assembled they were told what to do and given a list of things to find. 'It is reported City offlcals were roused trom their slumbers to give their signatures while one man gave his right shoe and in a few minutes another group were along wanting his left shoe. Amind much hilarity and teasing the group gathered on the back lawn of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Gran tham displaying their trophies. Miss Saylene Falls, Walter Grrflin, Miss Bobble Jean Gault and Gene White were given prizes for having found all the articles they were supposed to. Cinnamon buns, daugh nuts, hot chocolate and cbffee were served by the hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Troy Carpenter an nounce tbe engagement of their daughter. Dorcas Aileen, above, to. John Butler Plonk, son o I Mr. and Mrs. Clarence S. Plonk. The wedding will be an event oi the late fall. . . ?Mrs. Craig Falls, the new presi dent, presided over the business. Several committees were appointed, among them, .the flower and gift committees, Mrs. Grady McCarter was appointed chairman of the Scrap book committee. It was decid ed to assist the state in their project to help with the children's home In Greensboro. Other plans for the coming year's work was discussed. The hostesses, Mrs. Jiles Cornwetl 1 and Mrs. Grady McCarter, served London Mist and assorted cookies. Tuesday Bridge Club I With Mrs. J. Ai Neisler Mrs. J. A. Neisler delightfully en tertained the members. of the Tues day Afternoon Bridge Club at her home. Lovely flowers were used as decorations. Cokes and nuts were* served dur ing the progressions.
