WHEREAS it has now developed
that more cemetery space was ded
icated to this purpose than was nec
essary for the burial of these brave
men;
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of
Commissioners of the City3jf-*ings.

In the City of Kings Mountain the
9th of November, 1949:
That any veteran of the Spanish
American War or World War I or II
excepting a veteran of the colored
race, who shall have ibeen a, resi
dent of the City of. Kings Mountain
at the time of his induction into the
Armed Forces or who styall have
been a resident of King's Mountain
at least ten years preceding the time
of his death regardless of his place
of induction, into the Armed Forces
provided however that he shall have
received an honorable discharge
shall upon his death from any caiise
fcave the privilege of having his
last bodily remains laid at their fi
nal resting place in the Memorial
Plot of the Mountain Rest Cemetery
ih recognition of the service which
lie rendered to his country in its
hour of need.
