PHONE 167 BIBS. P. D. Mrs. Martin Harmon's Pupils Give Recital Mrs. Martin Harmon presented her piano pupils in a recital at her home Thursday night, December 15. .? Dickie Hunnlcutt played "Bells Are Ringing," a melody from Bee thoven's Nint Symphony; "Oh, Lit tle Town of Bethlehem," and "The Yellow Butterfly." Before playing "Judy Cooper reci ted the poem descriptive of her se lection, "The Mischievous Elf", by Bernice Bent ley.. Iris Patterson played Beoh's "Two Part Invention 'No.- 14," ' Waltz in C Sharp Minor," by Chopin, and "Pre lude No. Ill", 'by George Geishwin. Following the recital a dessert course of Ice cream and cookies was served to the stude?ts and their par ents. Bible Class Hold Christmas Party Members of the Gleaners class of the First Baptist church held their annual Christmas party at the Wo man's Olub house Thursday night. Mesdames B. N. Barnes, J. B. Falls, Bill Simpson, and Howard Ware were co-hostesses for the occasion. Seasonal decorations were used to inspire the Christmas theme. After a short devotional period, Mrs. Rowell Lane presided over the business. Mrs Abie Martin gave the report from the visiting by the group captains. ' Mrs. Gwinn Whisnant was in charge of the games. Gifts which members had brought to the party were exchanged, also gifts were 'brought to send a needy family. Mrs. Lane in behalf of the class presented Mrs. Ledford, the teacher, a piece of sliver in her pat tern. The class presented Mrs Lane a gift in appreciation for making the year books. / , I The G. F. Lattimores, Jr. Feted By L. A. Kisers Mr. and Mrs. L. Arnold Kiser were most gracious hosts Saturday night entertaining young married couples to make up four tables for bridge. Mrs. G. F. Lattimore, junior, was Che inspiration for the lovely affair. The Kiser home was aglow with Christmas cheer. In the living room silver and blue decorations were effectively used. In the den red arid green were used with a decorated Christmas tree to inspire the Yule tide spirit. When ta'bles were appointed for refreshments each held a blue burn ing candle in a silver holder. A sal- 1 ad and sweet course with Russian ' tea and nuts were served. ? Mrs. J. C. {Bridges was winner of ] the high score prize fox ladies. Dav- , td Neill received high for men. The honoree, Mrs. La ti more, was given silver in her bridafl pattern. Mrs. David Neill 'and Mrs. (Robert Neill, recent brides, were also re membered with gifts. Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Lattimore, Sr., 1 were Invited for refreshments. Junior G. A.'s Meet ?. With Kathrwn Ware Miss Kathryn Ware was hostess Saturday night at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Ware, en tertaining the Junior Girls Auxiliary of the Baptist church. The program .vas on (Foreign Missions. Each gkl brought her Lot tie Moon Christmas offering. Mrs. Barrett, the lea<#er, prepared the program. Marilyn Tessener presided aver the business. Fifteen njembers and the two lealers were present. The hostess served hot cocoa and cookies. The group sang Christmas carols after the meeting. ? The last two stars on the U. S. flag were added July 4, 1912 ? for New Mexico and Arizona.
