Twelth Birthday
Vicky Smith,- son of Mr. and
Mt-s. James Smith, celebrated his
twelth birthday anniversary Sat
urday afternoon when his mother
entertained at a party.
The children enjoyed games
and contests during the evening.
The ftome was gaily decorated
, for the occasion. At refreshment
time the birthday cake and tee
cream were served to the twenty
children present.
The honoree received many
nice gifts.

The P-TA of West school met
Wednesday afternoon In the
school auditorium with the presi
dent Mrs. Lewis Hovls presiding.
Mrs. Fred Plonk, gave the de
votional. Mrs. Frank Hoyle, pro
gram leader lor the month pre
sented Miss Alice Averett who
gave a most interesting talk on
Social Problems In our Youth of
Tomorrow.
The following slate of officers
were submitted by the nominat
ing committee; president; Mrs.
Lewis Hovls, vlce-pres; Mrs. Row
ell Lane; sec; Mrs. Sam Stalllngs;
treas; Mrs. Robert Suber, these
were elected for the coming year.
Refreshments were served by
the first grade.

nished by Miss Margaret Huff
stetler, organist and Mrs. Clark

The usher groomsmen were
John Caldwell, Billy Caldwell,
Ray Pearson and Bill McGinnis.
Furman Wilson was best man.
Mrs. Harry Hughes, sister of
. the bride was matron of honor.
She wore a dress of nile green taf
feta featuring a full skirt, low
neckline outlined with ruffles.
She carried an old fashioned nose
gay of mixed flowers.
The bride and groom entered
the church together. The bride
had chosen a dress of nylon net,
fitted bodice, long tapering
sleeves and full skirt. Her finger
tip veil of net was worn off face
caught to a tiaja of seed pearls. ,
She carried a white Prayer book j
covered with a baby's breath and
centered with a white orchid.
After the ceremony the bridal i
couple greeted the guests in the I
church foyer and left soon after
wards for a wedding trip to the
mountains of western Carolina. !'

Upon their return they will re- j
side on Stone street.
For her daughter's wedding, j
Mrs. Caldwell wore a suit of navy
blue with pink accessories and a 1
