Notice of Sale of Property Foi Unpaid 1951 City Taxes In pursuance of law I will sell at the City Hall in the City of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, beginning at 1:00 P. M. MONDAY. SEPTEMBER 8. 1952 V for unpaid City Taxes, the following described lands. Name of owner, description of 1951 land, and amount of taxes are in each case land owned by the tax payer in the City of Kings Mountain, N. C., January 1st, 1951. There will be in each casp the amount of cost and penalty which must be added to the taxes. This sale may be continued from day to day or to such time as may be fixed according to law in the event said sale is not had or completed on the date a bove specified. Ridge Assault Case Is Court Highlight Judge Jack White, in regular weekly session of city recorder's court Monday afternoon, disposed of a light docket. Sam Williams, Negro, was found guilty of assault on Anne Pearl Boyce, Negress, iand senten ced to thirty days work on the roads, judgment suspended upon the payment of costs of court The assault charge was the result of an argument Sunday in front of the Williams home on Cansler street. The prosecuting witness, wHo testified that the defendant said that he would blow her brains out with a shotgun, also said that she did not wish to prosecute the case, that she and the defendant were "good friends". Witness tes tified that the fracas which en sued was the result of the alleged belief of the defendant that she, the prosecu tress, "was going a round with another man". Defendant in turn testified that the, proven tress tried to shoot Mm on in* grounds that he was "going around with another wo nun". ,, The case, which caused some what of a commotion in the court room Monday afternoon, came to a head when the sister, of the prosecuting witness, who was not a pirty- to the case, came up to the front of the courtroom anil J?*rd thefJ*#g* see to it that her sister refrain from lltifig with the defendant, that she live With hel1. With those words the prosecu tress, Ann Boyce, walked from her seat, apparentl; headed to the outer door of the courtroom, collapsed, in, the floor, allegedly faintipg. Two cases were continued until next week's session of recorder's court, Clyde E. Props t, charged with destroying public property and public drunkenness, and L. B. ennessTurner, charged with as sault on a female. One case of public drunkenness was continu ed. Case against Curtis Smith, charged with assault on Carol Smith, was nolle pressed.
