Mrs. .John Cheshire entertained with a handsomely appointed bridal luncheon Saturday at 12 o'clock complimenting Miss Bet ty Cash whose marriage to Char les Andy McCarter was to take place in the evening. An exquisite arrangement of pink and white flowers and ] graceful greenery centered the table, the same motU being car ried out throughout the home. . A four course luncheon was served the guests including bri dal attendants, Mrs. Cash and Mrs. McCarter. The honoree was very chic in a black and white dress with or gandy oversklrt and a corsage of pink and white asters, gift of the hostess. Miss Cash took this occasion to present strands of pearls to her bridesmaids. Mrs. J. 0. Smith Entertains Fortnighter's Members of the Fortnighters bridge club and several addition, al guests met Friday afternoon with Mrs. Jim Smith. Following the games ctf bridge awards were presented Mrs. W. Hamrlch for highest score lor club members ahd to Mrs. L. Miss Betty Wilson Fetes Miss Cash One of the many courtesies ex tended Miss Betty Cash, bride Series Of Bridge Parties Given By Three Hostesses Mrs. M. H. BLser, Mrs. L. A. Hoke and Mrs. W. K. Crook en tertained with a series of parties Friday at the Country Club. The club rooms presented a lovely background lor the parties with the arrangements of colorful cut flowers.. ... On Friday afternoon guests were Invited to make up eleven tables for bridge, at the compari son of tallies at the close of the games it was revealed Mrs. W. R. Merrltt held high score with low score award going to Mrs. Clyde Kerns. Friday night guests were in vited for ten tables of bridge. Score prizes were presented Mrs. C. D. Blanton and Mrs. O. W. Myers and Miss Peggy Arthur, ?bride-elect, was remembered with a gift. ' II Pretty Coca Cola Party Honors Three Brides-Elect Misses Ann Mayes and Ramona Allen were hostesses Thursday morning at a beautiful Informal Coca Cola party complimenting Miss Rotty Cash, bride-elect of the week, Misses Doris Jolly and Bet ty Falls, brides-elect. The party was held on the spa cious Mayes lawn, the lovely big oak trees with other trees and shrubbery and the beds of bloom ing flowers made a perfect setting for the affair. The white lawn chairs artd tables, the unique flo wer arrangements oh the tables and potted plants around the bird bath, the delightful breeze made such a picturesque setting guests were reluctant to leave. Callers were greeted by Misses Mayes and Allen and presented to the receiving line composed of the honofrees, and Miss Betty Jo Lingley, of Winston-Salem, house gue^t of Miss Betty Cash. The refreshment table with the green burlap cloth, the large wa-' termelon shell filled with bananas peaches, lemons, grapes, pears, apples and the varlgated leaves, the large rattan tray of fancy party cakes, the unusual shaped trays of honduras mahagony fill ed with assorted dainty tid bits, cheese straws, nutty fingers, petit sandwiches, raisin squares and the large wooden bowl of potato chips and party pickles was a picture of summer symphony. A large wheelbarrow decorated with magnolia leaves and filled with crushed ice with coca cola bottles peeping out added a re freshing touch. Those giving -out the china plates in green and white and serving the drinks were Misses Sally Leigh. Ann Whisnant of Gastonia, Gail Allen, Evelyn Cline. Barbara Gault and Susanne Arrowood.
