Mr*. P. 0. Herndon, Editor Phon? 167 Mrs. Hambright Hostess To Twin Table Bridge Club Mrs. Claude Hambright ele gantly entertained member? of the Twin Table Bridge Club Tues day night. Very attractive bouquets of seasonal flowers artistically de signed and arranged treated a scene of floral beauty, for the social event. After several very animated r games of bridge, scores were com pared and prizes presented Mrs. P. D. Hcrndon and Mrs. II. C. Mayes for holding the two high est 'scores. During the progressions the hostess assisted by her daughter, Jane, served toffee arid, pecan pie garnished with ice cfeam. Mr. And Mrs. McDaniel Wednesday Bridge Hosts Mr. and Mrs. Fred McDaniel, Jr. were charming hosts Wednes day night to members of the King of Hearts club and four addition al guests. Miss Marlon Arthur and VV. P. Fulton, Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Goforth. Jr. The home was at traettvely decorated with arrange ments of chrysanthemums. After three progressions of bridge, scores were tallied and it was revealed Miss Arthur and Mr. Fulton were the recipients of the top score prizes. At the conclusion of the games, a parly plate was served, with coffee. Two Are Hostesses For Methodist Circle No. 8 Circle No. 8 of Central Metho dist Church met Monday night in the home of Mrs. Hlllard Black with Mrs. James Clonlnger as co hostess. Mrs. James Dickey presented the Bible study from Phtiipplans 4;4-,10. The group sang tow songs "We Gathered Together" and "Come Ye Thankful People, Come". Mrs. Sam Stalllngs gave the program on "Fruits for Evange lism". During the business It was de cided to help a needy family for Christmas. Mrs. James Dlcktfy asked the circle to meet with her in December* ? During the social hour, the hos tesses served refreshments to the thirteen members present. . ^ ; District Deputies To Visit O. E. Moorehead was hos tess to members of the Hattle Gardner Circle on Monday night, . for their regular monthly meet ing. Mrs. Harold Cogglns conducted a very inspiring devotional and gave an interesting program on "Africa". A brief business session was held, the circle decided to help clothe a needy child as their com munlty work for the month. During the social hour Mrs. Moorehead served strawberry Ice cream pie with coffee and salted nuts, to the fifteen members pre sent. The circle was delighted to have Mrs. Earl Ledford, president of the WMU, as a guest. Mrs. George Lattimore Tuesday Bridge Hostess Members of the Tuesday After noon Bridge Club were delight fully entertained this week by Mrs. George La,ttimore. The home was attractively de corated with lovely combinations of fall berries. Bridge was played through several progressions with Mrs. E. H. Webb receiving the highest score for the afternoon. A salad course with party ac cessories was served. Double Deck Bridge Club Met With Mrs. Moorehead The attractive home of Mrs. W. M. Moorehead was graciously a dorned with a wealth of chrysan themums on Tuesday night when Mrs. Moorehead charmingly en tertained members of the Double Deck Bridge Club. As guests arrived, they found their places at several small ta bles set up In the living room for an evening of bridge. Prior to the bridge session, the hostess was assisted In serving a dessert course with coffee and salted nuts. After several progressions of bridge, cards were laid aside and scores were tallied. Mrs. J. K. Willis proved to be the winner of the top score award with Mrs J. A. Arthur scoring second high. Mrs. J. H. Arthur and Mrs. Sam Collins Were invited to share the clubs hospitality. Mrs. C. T. Carpenter, Jr. Entertains Bridge Club Mrs. C. T. Carpenter, Jr. enter tained members of the Contract Club at her home Tuesday after noon. Delightful arrangements of mixed autumn flowers were fea tured in the party rooms.- ? - ? Covers were laid when the guests arrived and Mrs. Carpen: ter served a delicious dessert course, with coffee.
