Pupils Of Mrs. McGill Present Music Program Piano pupils of Mrs. N. F. Mc Gill were presented in recital at her home on West Mountain st. Thursday evening, June 4th at 8:00. J Flower arrangements of regal lilies, shasta daisies, fever-few, snapdragons, and baby's breath were used In the music room and living room. After the program, a social hour was enjoyed. The pupils as sisted Mrs. McGill in serving a fruit drink, cheese straws, assort ed cookies, and date bars to the parents and a few friends. Fulkerson since she broke her foot in March, has gone to Waco to spend the summer with her mother, Mrs. W. G. Hord. Cleveland Women Go To Farm And Home Week Mrs. William Wright and Mrs. Frank Ware of Patterson Grove and Mrs. Carrie McSwain of El Bethel are among the women from Cleveland County attending the Farm and Home Week in Raleigh. Miss Nancy Plonk, a member of the faculty of Plonk School of Creative Art, Asheville, spent several days this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Plonk. Mrs. Sam Davis Fetes Duplicate Bridge Club The home' of Mrs. Sam Davis was very attractive with gorge ous cut flowers featuring gar denias and other flowers in pastel shades on -Monday afternoon when her guests were members of the Duplicate Bridge Club and J two additional guests, Mrs. Amos Dean and Mrs. Hugh Ormand. Duplicate bridge Was the game of the afternoon. When scores were added, it was found Mrs. Jimmie Simpson had scored high est with Mesdames Amos Dean, Hugh Ormand, Drace Peeler, and Howard Jackson tying for se cond place. Plans have been completed and are announced this week for the. wedding of Miss Myra Sue Dick soh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Alexander Dickson of Gas tonia, and Winfred Earle Myers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Win fred Myers of Kings Mountain. The wedding will take place Tuesday evening, June 16th at 8 p. m. in the First Presby terian church in Gastoriia. Dr. Harry M. Moffett, pastor of the bride, and the Rev. P. D. Pat-, rick will be the officiating min isters. A program of nuptial music will be presented prior to and during the ceremony by Miss Nell Phillips of Battleborough, S. C., a class mate of Miss Dick Son's, at Salem College, organist, and Miss Mary Garland Brumley of Gastonia, vocal soloist. Miss Dixon will be given in marriage by her father and Mr. Myers will serve his son as best man. Attendants Mrs. John H. Teeier of Char lotte will attend her cousin as matron-of- honor and Miss Faye Lee of Smithfield, roommate of the bride at Salem College, will be maid-of-honor. Rhyne, Jr. will enter tain members of the wedding party, the two families, and out of-town guests at a wedding breakfast. Saturday evening at 8 o'clock Earle Myers will entertain with a dinner for the groomsmen at Kings Mountain Country Club. . Immediately following the cere mony the bride-elect's parents will be hosts at a formal recep tion at their home in Gastonia. Open Gate Garden Club Enjoy Dinner Meeting Members of the Open Gate i Garden Club enjoyed a dinner meeting Wednesday night at the | Country Club. i The dinner was given by the I loosing team honoring the team jwho had scored the most points during the past year. The four course dinner was I served in the main dining room from one long table. In the center was an all white arrangement, each place was marked with a floral place card and a corsage of gardenias. Mrs. Baxter Wright gave the invocation and welcomed the guests. Fololwing the delicious meal, a short business session was held. A report was given by Mrs. Claude Hambright on the recent State Federation meeting held in" Greensboro. It was voted to dis band until September. As the guests were leaving they were presented a gaily wrapped potted plant, each pot contained three plants. Mr., Mrs. Howard Jackson Dinner Bridge Ho:ts Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jackson were delightful hosts Friday night to members of the Ace of Clubs and their husbands at the regular dinner meeting at the Country Club. The entire club was beauti fully decorated . with an abun dance of gladioli, daises, lark spur, and other cut flowers. A four course dinner was served in the main dining room. Guests then assembled In the living rooms for the bridge games which left prizes with Mrs. Jacob Cooper and W. R. Craig for receiving the highest scores. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mau ney received the couples high score award. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey White of Charlotte were special guests.
